Santa Monica Studio Unveils God of War Laufey

In a massive show-closing reveal, Santa Monica Studio officially pulled back the curtain on the next mainline entry in the God of War franchise: God of War Laufey.

Ditching Kratos for the spotlight, this entry follows Laufey (Faye), warrior and deceased wife of Kratos. The extended 20-minute gameplay trailer revealed that death was only the beginning; Faye must fight her way through the afterlife of the gods, navigating a land overflowing with volatile magic to protect the ones she loves.

Actress Deborah Ann Woll reprises her role as Faye, delivering a combat system that looks every bit as weighty and visceral as Kratos’ recent outings. In a bizarre but delightful twist, the trailer also introduced a companion—a talking gelatinous cube voiced by The Boys’ Jack Quaid.
