GTA 6 Hit By Fresh Wave of Gameplay Leaks Ahead of Official Preview

GTA 6 Leaks Continue! Watch Out For Spoilers!

Grand Theft Auto VI has suffered a major security breach as multiple gameplay videos and map images began circulating online. The leaks—distributed by an anonymous group operating under the name "Cyberleek"—showcase early-build gameplay mechanics, vehicle systems, and character actions just days before Rockstar Games' scheduled official preview.

What Do the Leaked GTA 6 Clips Show?

The leaked material spans several short clips showcasing male protagonist Jason in various open-world scenarios. Frame-by-frame community breakdowns highlight several new and returning mechanics:

  • Stat Mechanics & Activities: Footage shows Jason playing basketball outside a residence, utilizing a timing-based button prompt that awards a percentage boost to a "Focus" stat.

  • Detailed Vehicle UI: Driving sequences reveal individual vehicle UI elements, including engine health indicators and an explicit fuel gauge, hinting that gas management could be a core gameplay loop.

  • RDR2-Style Inventory & Karma: Video analysis indicates a return of Red Dead Redemption 2's morality system (featuring negative karma icons upon attacking knocked-out NPCs) along with vehicle trunk storage loadouts.

  • Audio Clues & Build Recency: One clip features the song "Sports Car" by Tate McRae playing on the in-game radio. Because the track was released in early 2025, analysts at Insider Gaming suggest the footage originates from a relatively recent development build rather than archived legacy material.

Alongside the video content, high-resolution renders purporting to display large portions of the state of Leonida—including named counties and island regions—have also been published.

Who is Cyberleek and What Are Their Demands?

Unlike previous corporate extortion attempts, the Cyberleek group claims the leaks are part of a targeted protest against modern video game monetisation.

Accompanying the uploads is a manifesto condemning digital-only pre-orders, physical disc removal, and day-one DLC lockouts. Cyberleek explicitly stated it will continue distributing stolen material until Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive publish an apology and issue commitments toward physical game preservation.

Neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive have issued a formal statement on Cyberleek’s demands, but copyright enforcement teams have moved swiftly, issuing aggressive DMCA takedowns across social platforms and reupload channels.

Out of Sync Gaming Take

While the anti-digital consumer rights rhetoric outlined in Cyberleek's manifesto touches on genuine friction points in the modern games industry, using unauthorized developer leaks as collateral damages the hard work of development teams finishing up a decade-long project.

With Rockstar's official extended look scheduled for August 27, players won't have to wait long for official, context-backed footage of Grand Theft Auto VI directly from the source.
