Slashed and Splattered: Marvel’s Wolverine Gets Brutal Extended Gameplay Deep Dive

Insomniac Games kicked off the June State of Play in the most violent way possible, delivering a massive 7-minute extended gameplay deep dive for the highly anticipated Marvel’s Wolverine.

Stepping away from the open-world swinging of Spider-Man, Wolverine showcases a more linear, tightly-focused action-adventure structure. The footage showed Logan donning his iconic yellow suit and tearing through waves of enemies with unapologetic, blood-drenched brutality.

The biggest surprise of the trailer was the appearance of the X-Men’s Jean Grey. In a narrative cutscene, Jean assists Logan in rescuing a mutant child, leading into a dual-combat mechanic where Jean uses telekinesis to levitate enemies while Wolverine slices through them. The trailer concluded with a thrilling tease of classic antagonists Sabretooth and Omega Red.
