The Konami Renaissance: Metal Gear Solid 4 Lives Again, Plus New Silent Hill & Castlevania
Konami Shows Up With Old & New Games
Konami is officially back. The February State of Play confirmed the long-rumored Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, set for release on August 27, 2026. The collection's crown jewel is Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, appearing on a modern console for the first time since its 2008 PS3 launch.
The horror front saw a gameplay reveal for Silent Hill: Townfall, a first-person psychological horror title where players use a portable "CRTV" device, like the one I had as a kid, to navigate the fog. To top it off, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse was announced—a brand-new 2D entry developed in collaboration with Dead Cells creators Motion Twin, bringing the vampire-hunting series into a new era of fluid combat.
The Out of Sync Take
I was hoping for a return to Castlevania from the House of Konami, and they showed up! I can’t wait to play as a Belmont again in this new game. But the game that has me super-hyped is the reveal of Silent Hill: Townfall, the vibes look scary and I’m here for it!
