Kena: Scars of Kosmora Expands the Spirit World

Kena is back with even more abilities and in the bigger world of Kosmora

Ember Lab is returning with a full-scale sequel, Kena: Scars of Kosmora, arriving in 2026. This entry features an older, more experienced Kena who has traveled to the distant island of Kosmora to find a cure for a lifelong affliction.

The gameplay introduces a massive shift: Kena’s staff is shattered early in the story, forcing her to learn a new form of Spirit Alchemy to manipulate the elements. The "Rot" from the first game are joined by elemental spirit companions—including a majestic green-tailed fox—that players can evolve to unlock new combat and traversal abilities.

The Out of Sync Take

This is a surprise announcement that I wasn’t expecting. I like the first game in the series and it’s great to see Sony getting behind it for a sequel. Are you excited for Kena’s return? Let us know in the comments below.
