Leaked images of an unannounced, limited-edition Nintendo Switch 2 console and matching Pro Controller have sent the gaming community into a Hyrule frenzy. The photos show a sleek, collector-oriented design celebrating The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary—timed alongside hardware rumours surrounding Nintendo's next-gen ecosystem.
The Hardware Breakdown: Dock, Joy-Cons, and Pro Controller
The leaked packaging and hardware present a refined dark aesthetic with signature Hyrulean motifs:
The Switch 2 Dock: Features a deep matte black finish paired with a bold, golden Triforce crest centered on the front face.
The Joy-Con 2 Controllers: Ditch standard design for a black-and-teal palette accented with gold highlights, fine Triforce line work, and subtle Hylian runes along the handles.
The Zelda Switch 2 Pro Controller: Utilises the same black-and-teal foundation, elevated by metallic gold shoulder buttons and triggers. A prominent golden Triforce emblem rests across the main body between the thumbsticks.

Shiny new hardware and 40th anniversary collector’s items are always easy on the eyes, but let's be honest: with the rising price of the Switch 2, I think a lot of gamers who would normally ‘double dip’ might have to think twice if they really need to buy the rumoured special edition.
But let’s be real. Gamers are going to buy it and scalpers are going to scalp it. Let’s just hope Nintendo produces a lot of these special editions so we can avoid the even higher prices from the scalper market.
